The El Nino rains are expected in the third week of October 2026 and the areas that are expected to receive a lot of rainfall in Baringo County are the lowlands of Baringo South, Tiaty and parts of lower Yatya, and along the Kerio valley escarpment. These rains will be accompanied by thunderstorms, landslides and mudslides on the steep slopes. Households are encourage to move to safer high grounds and follow the advice of the local administration, follow the local radio broadcasts, TV news alerts and the social media.
